This is such a busy time for me. Not only is the youth football season trying to suck every ounce of energy from my body, but it’s open enrollment time. I go into all of my accounts and sit with my policyholders to make sure they are filing for their wellness benefits. It’s also when they can take on another policy. I meet with everyone else in the company and hopefully get to write some new policies. There’s a lot of prep work involved before I go into each account.
I’ve been trying to find ways to make more room in my home office (formally known as the den). I’ve added a shelf and plan to add more so that I can keep everything I need at home. I have everything for a functional office except a fax machine. So if you have an old one that you are not using or know of one being sold at a good price, please let me know.
So the ten year-old’s football team finally scored a touchdown. Not only did they score once but they scored again and won their first game 13-8. The boy played pretty well. He was the kicker for the first time this season and sent two kicks inside the 15 and the other skid out-of-bounds so it was placed at the 30-yard-line. Not bad for his first time. Don’t get me wrong, they still suck but with one game left before the playoffs at least they have some momentum.
The boy had the day off from school… something about Columbus. So we went to the office and I worked awhile. After that I took him to the lake to fish. I took two casts with his pole. One hit the water. The other landed in the tree next to me. Somewhere near Lake Garda there’s a poor little birdy with a $3.00 rubber fish hooked into its wing. Yup, another fun day of fishing.
So tomorrow I’ll be at a couple of more construction sights out in Danbury. Thank goodness for my GPS system. Last year at this time I was driving more miles while lost then I was when I knew where I was going. We were at a school breakfast last week and somehow one of the moms started talking about her GPS. Apparently her husband is able to download the voices of porn stars as your guides through the streets of somewhere. Not only do you get directions on how to find your way downtown, but you also get instructions on how to navigate your way down…. well you get the idea.
Remember.. both hands on the wheel!
